This species is known variously as ladybird or ladybug. Scientists increasingly prefer the names ladybird beetles or lady beetles as these insects are neither birds nor true bugs. Lesser-used names include ladyclock, lady cow, and lady fly. But why are the entire proposed names “lady”…? I think the life of this beetle family could be the worst life as they are all ladies… 
Where is the man…?
